What Is The Difference Between A Successful Business And A Failure?

success failure
No Comments

Throughout the history of making money we can see many many businesses that have had wild success and many many businesses that have failed miserably. The difference between the successes and failures depends upon a number of factors, but in many cases we can see certain successful businesses that have created a “formula” that works time after time, allowing for expansion across entire countries and even the world.

Think about McDonald’s – this American business that started out decades ago selling hamburgers, French fries and milkshakes has blossomed into one of the strongest businesses in the world. What is the McDonald’s Secret To Success? You got it – a system!

Each and every McDonald’s restaurant is a franchise – which means a McDonald’s restaurant owner has paid McDonald’s corporation for the rights to run that restaurant. The owner is provided with a giant golden M to hang above the door, and a system – the same system that every McDonald’s restaurant must follow. The system is completely plug and play, and includes everything from what tables to use and how often to sweep the floor to how many seconds the fries should be cooked for and how many pieces of tomato are in every burger.

This is why a completely inexperienced teenager, with a squeaky voice and a case of acne, can get a job at McDonald’s and fill your order for a Big Mac, a side salad, a baked apple pie and a soft drink with the expertise of a brain surgeon. They follow the preplanned and ever-so-thoroughly spelled out instructions provided to them by the McDonald’s system.

Systems are powerful. Systems turn simple actions and combination of actions into profitable ventures. If you are considering starting your own business then a solid working system should be at the top of your list.

If it is true that 90% of businesses fail within the first 5 years then it is also probably true that a large proportion of the remaining 10% have got their system in place. Businesses fail because they were either not proven to work in the first place, or they were not following a good enough system.

Having a system to follow is one of the main reasons that people choose network marketing as their business method of choice. Network marketing is an industry that is based on having systems and plans to follow, and this makes doing business much easier and makes success a lot easier to achieve.

Many people decide to start a home business for lots of different reasons. Some keep their “day jobs” until the home business really takes off, and work at the home business during their spare time. Some people don’t have a regular job and decide to take on a network marketing business full time. It might even begin as a hobby.

Regardless, network marketing has become the business of choice for many people because of this: there are established systems to follow – systems that work well no matter who is pushing the necessary buttons.

There has never before in history been a better time to start a business than right now, and there are no business options better for a person starting out than Network Marketing.

Find a system, work the system, reap the rewards. That’s what Network Marketing is all about.

In Network Marketing, You Need To Put In Super-Human Hours Every Week?

“Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit.” – Napoleon Hill

I’m sure you’ve heard the stories of people who have started a network marketing business and got up at some Super-Human hour to start selling their products or promoting their opportunity, all before they go to work at their regular job.

Then as soon as they get home it’s a quick bite to eat and they’re back at it again, having meetings, phoning people, delivering orders, or simply promoting their business online… all until they’re too tired to do anything but fall straight back into bed again!

I’m going to bust this myth right now: Of course it’s true that you have to commit yourself to your business in order to start reaping the rewards, but you certainly don’t need to give up all your spare hours to do it.

Regular effort is good, but don’t go overboard!

If you look at the people who start off in network marketing by giving up all their spare time, neglecting their friends, and devoting every possible resource to their business, you’ll see that they can rarely keep it up for longer than a couple of months before burning themselves out. That’s no way to live, and that’s no way to achieve the kind of success you want.

You’ll get much better results by devoting a smaller amount of time to your business on a regular basis, on your own terms. It might take you longer in the short-term, but I guarantee you’ll enjoy the journey a whole lot more.

You need to run your business, not let it run you.

It’s a great idea to come up with a plan to fit the business into your life without it taking over entirely. Set some rules about times your business will never touch. Perhaps Sunday will always be out of bounds, or maybe Movie Night with your kids, or Date Night with your spouse. Perhaps all three.

Don’t believe the myth that you have to put in more hours than a Superhero to get anywhere in Network Marketing.

After all, network marketing is about improving your life, and adding to it with personal development and a second income. It’s not about flogging yourself to death in the process!

Residual Income Vs Traditional Income

residual income
No Comments

“Profits are better than wages. Wages will make you a living, profits make you a fortune. It’s difficult to get rich on wages, but anybody can get rich on profits” – Jim Rohn

QUESTION: How much do you get paid if you stop working? If you’re like most people, your answer is probably “nothing”. For every rich person, however, the answer is very different. A rich person is simply someone who has learned how to make money when they’re not working, when they’re on vacation, and even when they’re sleeping.

The rich have named this type of income “Residual Income”.

Residual income is money that keeps getting paid to you whether you work or not. You earn money no matter what you’re doing, because the money earns itself. It doesn’t depend on you. So if you had a residual income of $2000 a month, you could STILL get paid $2000 every month even if all you did was sit in a rocking chair and read the newspaper each and every day.

Rich people have learned how to earn money 24/7, and you can too.

The only residual income most people will ever earn is the measly interest on their savings account with their bank. Imagine what it would be like if your residual income was large enough for you to quit your job, or even quit working altogether…

TRADITIONAL INCOME:

The moment you arrive at a regular job you start getting paid, and your boss decides how much. Then when you leave at the end of the day you stop making money. It’s almost impossible to get rich this way because every penny you earn is completely dependent on you being at work, and you only have a limited number of hours each day. If you don’t turn up to work one day, you stop earning money. Why most people choose this as their main method of earning money is because they don’t know about all the alternatives available!

RESIDUAL INCOME:

The moment you wake up in the morning you start making money. In fact, you were earning overnight. You do some work during your day which adds to your residual income. You finish your work in the evening, but your income doesn’t stop growing. If you decide to take the day off, or go on vacation for a week, you don’t stop earning money. Can a boss or anyone else reach out and turn off your Residual Income? Not a chance!

You are in complete control, and nobody is allowed to say how much you are allowed to earn and when you can earn it.

You could be working on your Residual Income today! Every day it could grow a little bit more than the day before.

You can start earning as soon as you get started, and getting started is easier than you might think.

Don’t let ANYONE tell you how much you’re worth.

Proper Time Scheduling For Network Marketing Success

time arrangement
No Comments

One of the keys to being consistently productive and effectively running a business is organization and the ability to schedule time properly. We all like to think of ourselves as organized, but in reality, is this the truth?

Have you ever found that in spite of your best intentions, you just couldn’t accomplish everything you set out to do in a given day or week? Is it because you’re trying to cram too many things into your days and weeks, or is it because you just need to work on your organization and time management skills? Do you find that you plan a schedule, and then get distracted with so many other things that you can’t finish your work?

Regardless of the reason, it’s vital to get organized! You’re not going to experience Network Marketing success until you can get your time organized. Once you manage this, you will be able to see what areas you need help in and which areas you can maximize.

Even though some of us think that having to be organized stifles creativity, it really makes it much easier to be creative – you’re freer to create the business and life you want (sounds like fun when I put it that way, doesn’t it?).

So let’s talk about time scheduling. First you need some tools. They don’t have to be elaborate or fancy, so don’t worry. You need a calendar (one with space to write things down) and a diary or journal. Once you have the tools you’ll use, you need to commit yourself to truly making use of them. This is how you’re going to begin to get organized and then stay organized.

The first step to learning to properly schedule your time is to see how you’re using your time right now. This is where you will use your diary or journal. For a week, don’t change your schedule. Just keep very close track of what you do with your time. Record what you’re doing in some detail, how you’re feeling (tired, restless, alert, etc), and write down the time you start each new activity – even if it’s just taking a few minutes to chat on the phone with a friend.

After one week, look at your journal. What can you learn from it? That you are spending a lot of time chatting or day dreaming? Maybe you’re spending a lot of time doing things that should be eliminated from your workday. You might be surprised to see how much time you spend on Facebook or checking email.

Look closely to find areas where there is waste. You don’t have to check your email ten times a day! You can easily reduce that amount to three times. And you don’t have to answer every phone call that comes in – in fact, if you’re working, you should eliminate the distraction of the phone – that’s what voice mail is for. Schedule time each day to return calls – and then limit the amount of time you’re on each call if you can!

Next, look at the work tasks that you need to accomplish each day and throughout the week. Make sure to include time for emails and communicating with downline members and potential recruits, along with social networking, marketing activities, etc. Keep in mind that you also need to have time for your personal life, and your “day” job, if you’re still working outside of the home. Oh, and don’t forget that you have to sleep at some point!

to do list

The point is to create to-do lists and prioritize them. Certain things will have to take place at certain times. They can fit into your schedule without any more analysis if you’ve deemed them necessary. Now look at what is left. Large tasks can be broken down into smaller ones – this will help you keep from getting overwhelmed.

Now here is where things get interesting! It’s time to schedule your work time, and indeed your whole life to some extent. If you’ve made notes about the times of day that you’re feeling more alert and energized (and you should have), you can start working your schedule to fit those times. You can use higher energy times for doing certain tasks, and you can also use the information you’ve collected to see if some simple rest or dietary changes might help you find more “energy” time during your day.

As you start building your schedule, keep the following in mind:

  • Stay realistic – you only have so much time each day.
  • Make sure the things that you absolutely must do are scheduled and that you’ve left enough time to complete them.
  • Don’t over-commit yourself.
  • Remember to expect the unexpected – leave some contingency time in your schedule for surprises.

Once you’ve built your schedule, do two things: remember that a schedule is fluid – it’s going to move and change, and remember that you can always go back to basics if you need to – it won’t hurt to use your diary to track your habits occasionally to make sure you’re staying organized.

Turn Off Your Television, Grow Your Network Marketing Business!

TurnOffTV
No Comments

That’s right! Turn it off, throw it out your window, smash it with a hammer, set it on fire, just get rid of it!

Your television may be one of the biggest time wasters in your life, and your life is far too valuable to waste watching silly, inane programs that bring little or no value into your life and keep you from getting work done, or playing with your kids, or getting exercise, or doing other productive things.

While there are some very worthwhile programs that are presented on TV such as award winning educational shows, shows about history and science and even some programs that are light-hearted and entertaining enough to leave us feeling uplifted, there are many, many shows that are just a waste of time. That’s time that you could spend working on building your Network Marketing business, or doing other things that are fulfilling and important.

I want you to really think about the amount of time you spend each day and each week watching TV. Usually when someone watches television, they aren’t doing much else. It’s too distracting to work on business.

television

TV also does not count as quality time with family and friends. Sitting in front of the TV, eyes fixed on the screen, energy focused on the show that you’re watching doesn’t allow for anything that could rightly be described as quality time. Instead, you could be outside playing a game with your children, or learning a new hobby with a friend, or going for a jog together (spending time together and getting in shape!).

Did you know that TV takes some vital things away from you besides time for working on your business and spending quality time with family and friends? It takes away time that you could be spending on healthy things like going to the gym or going for a bike ride (fresh air and sunshine!). Some people find that sitting in front of the television contributes to weight gain (less exercise and more temptation to snack while watching). Talk about wallowing in a life void of success!

Plus – television watching has been found to affect your brain. Studies have shown that TV watching leads your higher brain centers to shut down. These are the areas that involve critical thinking. Other studies have shown that reading and listening to music stimulates your brain because doing these things actually forces your brain to use it’s creativity to visualize what’s going on, so they are better activities.

Here are some hints that can help you watch less TV, leaving you more time (and brain power) for other interests and for your business:

  • See if you can go without television for a whole week. This will help you reframe your thinking about the importance of TV watching.
  • Make a list of the shows that are important to you and that you especially like. List them in order of priority.
  • Create a TV watching schedule that allows you to watch TV for a maximum of one hour per day.
  • Find other things to do – start an exercise program, play games with your kids, start a new hobby, go on a date, work on your Network Marketing plan, write articles, work on your Network Marketing social networking – you get the idea.

You really don’t have to get rid of your TV. But do put it in it’s place. Part of being successful in Network Marketing and life is getting your priorities straight.

TV isn’t a priority.

This is my first time attending Elite Networkers Conference (ENC) in Singapore. Before attended the event, I know I could definitely learn something from the 2 days event, but I never imagine the information I get from the event is so powerful and the speakers of that days are so “heavy weight”. They are really the veteran in the Network Marketing industry.

I actually reached the venue quite early the first day of the event, and I “think” I saw Todd Falcone. I must tell you that I don’t have idea who are the speakers for the 2 days event. After confirmed with Jeremy, one of the event organizer, HE IS TODD FALCONE! Wow.. If you are not in network marketing industry, for your info, he is one of the power speaker in No Excuses Summit II in Las Vegas this year and he has more than 20 years experience in this industry. Benjamin Tan

C) “Big Al” Tom Schreiter – Creating A Vision With Prospect & Distributors

One very important message from Tom is “People don’t make decision based on information!”

This is really true where we always see networkers pitching their products or business opportunity just based on the information. And after giving the information, people ask “So what?” Therefore, don’t just give information, but give VISION.

"Big Al" Tom Schreiter

D) Special Guest Hob Khadka from Nepal sharing about his journey in Network Marketing

Hob Khadka shares with us that the event organized by Metica has changed his life and he is now a very successful businessman.

Hob Khadka

E) Joel Putland – Situational Leadership

Leadership is always a topic that I wanted to learn more. The Situational Leadership by Joel Putland is really a insightful session for me. So, what is Situational Leadership? That’s “Different Strokes for Different Folks”.

Joel Putland

Situational Formula = 3 skills

  • Diagnose the needs of your people
  • Learn to use a variety of leadership style flexibly
  • Learn how to come to agreements with them about what kind of leadership style they need from you

F) Dr Masa Cemazar – Networking Etiquette of True Professionals

Interested to find out the 3 biggest mistakes network marketers make? I bet you are if you are a networker like myself. :)

Mistake 1 – Focusing on your business rather than your prospect
Mistake 2 – Have a convincing rather than a sorting mindset
Mistake 3 – Closing a sale not educating

So, what are the ways to become a true professional?

1. Be consistent & think long term
2. Become a great teacher
3. Create great friendships
4. Have an “abundance mindset”
5. Be a great diagnostician
6. Give value in abundance
7. Continue to work on yourself

Masa Cemazar

G) Donna Imson – The “W” Factor

I would say the story of Donna Imson is the most inspiring for me. Maybe I’m a mother too. She is a single mom of 3 and network marketing really changes her life and transform her to a great person. I particularly like her sharing of “W” factors which are:

  1. Wonderful Wonder Women
  2. Welcoming Weaknesses
  3. Working With Each Other

And guess what, Donna said, The 21st Century is the Women Century! My 3 W is Wow! Wow! Wow! :D

Donna Imson

H) Francis & Marisa Taye – Harmonizing Marriage With The Business

Lots of people are working alone in network marketing and how nice if working together with the spouse in the same business? However, there are really lots of challenges while working together. Francis and Marisa share with us how they work together and one word: TRUST

Francis and Marisa Taye

I) Onyx Coale – The More You Learn, The More You Earn

This is really the title I like most – The more you learn,  the more you earn! From Onyx sharing, I notice that it is all about self development and we really have to improve ourselves from time to time. That not only makes us a greater person but during the learning process, we earn too!

Onyx Coale

J) Sheri Din – Responsibilities Of Our Profession

The wonderful 3 P shared by Sheri Din:

  • Patience
  • Persistence
  • Perseverance

I strongly agree the 3 Points above and I love the quote shared by Sherin -  “Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that.., but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.” – Mark Twain

Sheri Din

K) Todd Falcone – Leading By Example

Leadership, how to become a good leader is really challenging. But Todd has put into very simple sentence and it immediately goes into my mind.

Leading by example is - Inspiration through Action!

The 9 core strategies for Effective Leadership in Network Marketing

Core Strategy #1 – Focus on ONE Thing
Core Strategy #2 – Set the pace
Core Strategy #3 – Let them see it
Core Strategy #4 – Do as you say
Core Strategy #5 – Sharpen your saw
Core Strategy #6 – Be accountable
Core Strategy #7 – Live by Golden Rule

Network Marketing Is Just All About Recruiting?

recruiting
No Comments

“If you can’t find the key to success, pick the lock.”

99% of network marketing opportunities operate in basically the same way. They all have a range of products for you to sell and profit from, and you can find other people to do the same, and also profit from what they sell.

By setting up the opportunity this way they achieve a number of important goals: You don’t have to fear competition [you profit from them], you have an incentive to grow the total number of company representatives, and you can continue to make money even when you’ve stopped working.

Now that’s great, and you’ll certainly make more money if you introduce more people into the business, BUT… you DON’T need to get anyone to join, and you don’t need to be responsible for anyone else’s success.

I’m going to destroy this extremely popular myth right now: You CAN earn decent money simply by selling products to people who want them.

Once you’ve built up your customer base and you know where to go to get your orders, you can earn a reliable income and enjoy yourself in the process.

Some people don’t like the idea of recruiting other people into their business. And that’s absolutely fine! How do they get around it? Simple. They just don’t do it!

Some people you will come across truly believe in this myth, and they will see a non-recruiting network marketer as a waste. But here’s what you need to remember: This is your business and it’s up to you how you run it.

If you’re happy selling products to people and don’t want to take it any further, then just focus on building a large customer base to provide you with a stable income for years to come.

Still not convinced? Think about this…

How many companies do you buy from in any given week? If you’re like most people your answer is probably several dozen. Now, how many of those companies try and recruit you to go and work for them, and to sell their products? Probably zero!

That’s because they already work to a solid business model. They provide products, they find people who want them, and they sell lots. It’s already a winning solution. They don’t need to recruit extra people in order to make wild profits.

This business model is exactly the same as the “marketing” aspect of “network marketing”. An already proven and profitable business model.

Again, if you don’t want to recruit other people you don’t need to.

Don’t let this myth guide you off course!

In Network Marketing, You Need To Pester Your Friends To Buy?

chase
No Comments

“There is only one success – to be able to spend your life in your own way.” Christopher Morley

One of the main reasons to join a network marketing organisation instead of starting your own traditional business is that the main company takes care of designing and creating your products. You don’t have to worry about anything apart from the marketing. Your only job is the marketing.

You’re probably aware of the Network Marketing myth about selling these products to your friends and family, also known as your “warm market”.

Well, just relax. You most definitely DON’T have to do this. Any decent company will have more ways for you to get customers than to pester your friends.

Every single business on the planet relies on reaching out to more people, to the world that is larger than your own address book. You can’t [and wouldn't want to] build a successful business on the goodwill of your friends and family alone!

Any network marketing company worth their salt will teach you how to promote their products. They know just involving your friends and family can’t take your business to the level you want to reach. All good companies know this, so don’t panic.

Most people who join a network marketing company have visions and aspirations of building a business on the strong foundations of a large customer-base. Let’s say for example you want to have at least 50 customers in the coming 90 days. How realistic is it to expect most or all of those 50 people to be your existing friends?

I’m sure you’ll agree, that’s pretty unrealistic!

In this business, just as in all other businesses, you’ll need to widen your approach right from the word go.

You have to learn to market and promote, and people like me can help you do just that.

REMEMBER: This is your business, and you have the final decision on who you are going to talk to about it.

Pestering your friends and family is a MYTH!
